Autumn Ride Vibes

The sun is coming up a lot later, and it’s getting darker sooner. Here where we are at, we’ve had some cooler mornings these past few days. Our LBS is stocking up on in-door training equipment, and there are fewer races to watch on the weekend. All signs are pointing to the end of the cycling season. However, we aren’t quite ready for it to be trainer season. In fact, this is our favorite time of the year to ride. These cool mornings are refreshing, and the autumn leaves are starting to look quite beautiful. Admittedly, as daylight becomes a scarcity, we tend to cherish it even more, which might be having a subconscious effect on how we feel about our October rides. Today we’ve selected some content that puts out some nice late-season vibes.

Over the weekend, Thibaut Pinot participated in his final road race as a professional cyclist. Finishing 37th at Il Lombardia may seem like a mundane ending to a pro-racer’s career, but Pinot crossed the line surrounded by his Groupama-FDJ teammates. It was sentimental—which is the essence of Thibaut—and we appreciated the scene. As did his many fans, which could be seen swarming him earlier in the race, revealing how dearly Pinot’s fans love the racer.
