We’ve seen plenty of headlines regarding the major discounts hitting the (struggling) cycling industry. We’ve also waded through our fair share of articles giving suggestions on what to buy, where to buy it, and when to buy it. And, since we’re firmly in the holiday shopping season, we haven’t been surprised by any of these headlines and, at times, have used and benefited from them. Nevertheless, this article by The Escape Collective on how cycling media blends advertising and reporting has us questioning the validity and impact of such articles. Even though it’s not firmly rooted in cycling news, the article is worth a read. Also, it discusses AI, so that’s also interesting.

Cyclocross is heading to Flamanville, France, but riders should avoid the cheese. We’ve also been watching some vintage cyclocross races from the 1950s and 60s. Campagnolo won’t be in the World Tour next year, but SRAM might increase its presence. The United States is getting another UCI pro single-day race in 2024. Richard Plugge is interested in nabbing Uijtdebroeks, but so is probably everyone else. Area B&B Hotels is showing off its 2024 kit. This shirt is our weekend shopping list.
