Issue 33: the Festive Issue
The festive season is upon us, and everyone here at Off The Back is wishing you and yours a wonderful holiday season. Whether you’ll be taking time off work or off the bike to enjoy time with friends and family or tackling the Festive 500, we hope this time is what you need it to be. For us, we’re going to attempt to tackle some seasonal riding, but we’ll also be enjoying time with family, which means the OTB Cycling Digest will be on winter hiatus for the next couple weeks. You can look for us to return in the new year. Until then, chapeau and happy holidays!

While not inherently festive, we’re recommending watching The Divide. We’ve been looking forward to the documentary of Lachlan Morton’s epic, should-be-record-setting ride across the Divide trail. Had not Morton been accompanied by the film crew, he would have set a record, but fortunately for us, he set aside glory in the record books for the sake of our viewing pleasure. Put this film on while cranking out some kilometers on the trainer this festive season.
Christmas Cross is upon us, and MvdP has been besting WvA and Pidcock. Fem van Empel is also dominating in her Rainbow bands. Jonas Vingegaard is sticking to his winning formula in 2024. A new Trek has been spotted. Here’s some advice for completing the Festive 500. Enjoy the holidays!
