Issue 35
While browsing some of our favorite cycling website, searching for news and gossip and other such cycling-focused distractions to feed our own bottomless pit that is our appetite for cycling content, we were delighted to notice a slight change in one of favorite features that had been somewhat stagnant for the past couple months: the results lists. We saw a couple new results: at the time it was the results for junior men’s and junior women’s ITT Australian national championships results. While this result is mostly only of interest to a select niche share of our readers, what was truly exciting about the change was the fact that we are inching closer to the start of the 2024 road racing season. We congratulate Wil Holmes and Lauren Bates on their victories, and we congratulate the rest of you for making it through the off season.

Matt Stephens blessed us with two Cafe Ride videos in close succession. If you haven’t gotten around to viewing the his chat with Tadej (as featured in a previous newsletter), it’s a must watch. So is his chat with former Cyclocross World Champion and demon descender Tom Pidcock. Since you might be missing seeing Pidcock on the cyclocross tracks this coming weekend due to some illness, you can catch him riding around Belgium with Matt.
The Tour Down Under begins in eight days. Bora-Hansgrohe will be partnering with Red Bull. Earo is the new aero. We like headlines that say “Bikes are taking over the world” even if it’s an exaggeration and not scientific. A sick Tom Pidcock will miss some cyclocross races. Geraint Thomas chatted with his teammate Egan Bernal in his Watts Occurring podcast.
