Considered the connoisseur’s Grand Tour, the Giro can be beautiful but unforgiving. This year’s route will surely continue the tradition of beautiful scenery, but the noticeably shorted stages suggest that it’s challenges won’t lie within the sheer length and altitude of the race but rather in crucial moments throughout the entire three-week race.
